Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the official honor society of community colleges recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges. Its mission is to recognize academic achievement of college students and to provide opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders.
How to Join Phi Theta Kappa?
To receive an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa, a student must meet the college chapter’s eligibility criteria (usually a mix of credit hours taken and accumulative GPA).

What are the eligibility requirements?
In general, a student must be enrolled in a college or institution that has a Phi Theta Kappa chapter, have completed at least 12 credit hours towards an associate degree, or have completed six credit hours toward a one-year certificate, and have a cumulative 3.5 grade point average.
While these are general eligibility requirements, chapters are permitted to raise eligibility standards in accordance with the Society’s constitution. If you are eligible, you will receive an official invitation from your college chapter. If you believe you are eligible and did not receive an invitation, contact your college’s chapter advisor.
