Do Your Research Before Registering for Classes

If you’re planning on transferring, it’s super important to have a clear plan. It may seem like your class options are wide-open, but picking courses that will transfer to your dream degree program can make things go so much smoother when it’s actually time to transfer. @espdaniella has some great advice about how to make sure you’re maximizing your credit transferability.

We could’ve made a whole post just based off this creator’s TikTok – @elizabethtikoyan has a TON of great advice for maintaining a high GPA and having an overall great experience at college. That said, this one stands out.

It can be hard to remember sometimes that professors are people too. Making a good first impression is key to succeeding in even the toughest of classes, so breaking the ice is a great way to let your professor know you are serious about your education.

This would’ve saved us so much time and so many headaches if we’d known it a few years ago! If you’re sick of squinting at small text in your physical textbooks, or have a few quotes you need to save for future citations, you can just scan the page with the Microsoft Lens app and it’ll convert everything into text! You can upload that text to word and change the font to something easier to read, or easily get verbatim quotes for your future essays and research papers.

We’re always looking for newer, better study guides and Quizlet is one of the best resources around. @scott.frenzel explains the best way to find study guides that align with your course material.

One caveat Scott doesn’t mention – while making a study guide yourself from scratch may be tedious, the process itself is a great way to learn the material. So, as helpful as it may be, using a pre-made set is not the end-all-be-all of study techniques, depending on your learning style.

Step-By-Step Solutions To Any Math Problem

We don’t know about you, but there’s always that one math problem on our homework that has a step or two we just can’t figure out to get to the solution. Usually, that’s when you have to turn to your professor or a tutor for some help, but when that’s not available, it’s nice to have other options.

There are tons of apps that help you solve math problems, but Cymath is one of the best. Not only does it solve complex problems, but it also gives you each step used to reach the solution. More than that, however, it has a “practice” section that offers problems in a variety of topics and also shows the solutions. Cymath is such a great tool for practicing many math courses.
